Key Features

Hammer-Strike Cam Rotation A steel cap and tang-thru shank let you strike the driver with a hammer the blade rotates 12 counterclockwise on impact to break stuck, rusted, or stripped screws free without an extractor. JIS-Compatible Phillips Tip Vessel’s original Phillips tip profile seats tight in both standard and Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) screw heads, cutting down on cam-out on import equipment and JIS-spec fasteners. Hardened, Chrome-Plated Blade Fully hardened steel blades with anti-corrosion chrome plating hold their edge through repeated impact use and standard fastening work alike.

Overview

This is a Phillips screwdriver set designed for fasteners that fight back. The Vessel 9802SC Megadora Impacta 2-Piece Set pairs a #2 x 4-in. and a #3 x 6-in. Phillips screwdriver, both built on Vessel’s Impacta platform so a hammer strike does real work instead of just marring the screw head.

The core of that platform is a tang-thru shank running the full length of the handle into a hardened steel cap. Strike the cap and a cam rotation mechanism turns the blade 12 counterclockwise, applying rotational force directly to a stuck, rusted, or distorted screw at the same moment impact hits the tip. That combination twist plus strike is what gets a corroded fastener moving when a standard screwdriver just cams out or rounds the head. Both drivers work as normal Phillips screwdrivers too, so there’s no need to swap tools for routine fastening.

Tip geometry matters as much as the impact mechanism. Vessel machines its own Phillips profile rather than a generic stamped tip, and that profile is built to seat in Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) screw heads as well as standard Phillips a real advantage on Japanese-spec vehicles, motorcycles, and imported equipment where a US-spec Phillips driver tends to cam out. The blades are fully hardened and chrome plated for corrosion resistance, and the two-component cushion grips add control whether you’re striking the cap or just driving a screw by hand.

This set covers the two most common Phillips sizes #2 and #3 encountered across automotive, mechanical, and general fastening work, and both drivers store in a compact case sized to fit flat in a standard tool drawer.

Buy this set if you regularly run into corroded, over-torqued, or JIS-spec Phillips screws and want a driver that solves the problem on the spot instead of reaching for an extractor kit or a drill. It’s a smaller, more targeted purchase than a full impact driver bit set Vessel’s Impacta line is aimed specifically at the stuck-fastener problem, not general-purpose driving.

Why the Impacta Design Works

Two blade sizes cover the fasteners you’ll hit most on the job no guessing which driver to grab.

• #2 x 4-in. Phillips for standard fasteners, electrical boxes, and general assembly
• #3 x 6-in. Phillips for larger automotive, mechanical, and appliance screws
• Both function as everyday drivers, not just impact tools

Built to Take a Hit

A frozen or corroded screw is the reason this driver exists. Strike the steel cap and the cam rotation mechanism does the loosening for you.

• Tang-thru shank transfers full hammer force straight to the tip
• Blade turns 12 counterclockwise on every strike
• Loosens rusted, stuck, and stripped screws without a power tool or extractor

Pro Tip

Seat the tip fully in the screw head and apply steady downward pressure before you strike the cap a glancing hammer blow on a loose-seated tip is what rounds out a screw head, not the Impacta mechanism itself.

The Screwdriver You Reach for When the Screw Won’t Move

The Vessel 9802SC Megadora Impacta set solves a specific, common problem: the Phillips screw that’s rusted, over-torqued, or already starting to strip.

• Who it’s for: Automotive techs, equipment mechanics, and anyone who regularly deals with corroded or JIS-spec Phillips fasteners.
• Why it stands out: The tang-thru/cam-rotation combo turns a hammer strike into rotational force at the tip most standard drivers just transmit shock and cam out.
• Worth knowing: This is a targeted 2-piece set, not a general driver assortment pair it with a standard screwdriver set for everyday driving and keep this one on hand for the stuck ones.

Common Questions

• Can I hit these screwdrivers with a hammer? Yes that’s the intended use. The steel cap and tang-thru shank are built for it; striking activates the 12 cam rotation.
• Will these fit JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) screws? Yes. Vessel’s original Phillips tip profile is designed to seat properly in both standard Phillips and JIS screw heads.
• Can I use these as regular screwdrivers? Yes, both drivers function normally for everyday fastening the impact feature is there when you need it, not a requirement.
• Where is the Vessel 9802SC made? Japan.
