Key Features

Compact Circular SawThe small 4-1/2 inch format makes this saw easier to control in tight spots, overhead work, and quick punch-list cuts where a full-size framing saw feels like too much tool. Brushless EfficiencyThe brushless motor is built to stretch runtime and keep performance consistent. DEWALT rates it for up to 369 linear feet of 3/4 inch OSB with a DCB205 battery. Jobsite ControlAn electronic blade brake, removable auxiliary handle, hang hook, and on-board blade key storage all help this saw work better in real conditions, not just on a spec sheet.

Overview

The DEWALT DCS571B 20V MAX ATOMIC Brushless Cordless 4-1/2 in Circular Saw is a compact cordless saw built for fast wood cutting where size and control matter as much as raw capacity. This is a circular saw designed for cutting dimensional lumber, sheet goods, and quick trim material on jobs where a smaller tool is easier to handle. Model Number: DCS571B. If you want a cordless circular saw that can move easily through tight spaces without giving up the ability to cut common jobsite material, this is the point of this tool.

What makes the DCS571B useful is how DEWALT sized it around real punch-out, remodeling, and service work. The bevel gear design lets it cut 2x material at 90 degrees and 1x dimensional lumber at 45 degrees with a 4-1/2 inch blade. That matters because this is not just a novelty small-blade saw. It still handles common cuts in framing lumber, blocking, subfloor patches, and trim stock while staying lighter and more maneuverable than a larger sidewinder.

The brushless motor is there for more than just a buzzword. DEWALT states this saw can cut up to 369 linear feet of 3/4 inch OSB with a DCB205 battery, which tells you the tool is built to stay productive for repeated sheet good cuts and general carpentry work. Paired with a 4,500 RPM no-load speed, the saw is aimed at clean, quick cutting in wood and wood-based sheet materials rather than brute-force heavy framing all day.

From a design standpoint, the DCS571B clearly leans into control. The removable auxiliary handle gives you a more secure second hand position when accuracy matters. The 1-1/2 inch finger trigger lets you choke up on the tool when the cut angle or work position calls for it. There is also a hang hook for jobsite convenience, plus on-board blade key storage so the wrench is with the saw when it is time for a blade change instead of buried in a bag somewhere.

DEWALT also paid attention to safety and cleanup. The electronic blade brake stops the blade quickly, which helps when you are making repeated cuts and moving piece to piece. An on-board dust port gives you a way to manage dust better than a basic open-guard saw, especially for indoor remodeling or shop use where mess matters. Those are the kinds of features that save time over the course of a day, even if they do not look flashy in a headline.

As part of the ATOMIC Compact Series, this saw runs on the DEWALT 20V MAX battery platform, so it makes the most sense for users already on that system. It is sold as a tool only, so batteries and charger are separate. That is a good fit for contractors, maintenance crews, remodelers, cabinet installers, and serious DIY users who already own DEWALT 20V MAX packs and want a smaller circular saw for quick cuts, overhead work, or jobs where carrying a full-size saw is overkill.
