Overview

The Milwaukee 2497-24H M12 4-Tool Combo Kit is a cordless combo kit built around Milwaukee’s compact M12 platform. This is a 4-tool cordless combo kit designed for drilling, fastening, cutting, and detail grinding or sanding in tight work areas. Model Number: 2497-24H. For contractors, service techs, maintenance crews, and serious DIY users who need useful coverage without hauling full-size tools everywhere, this kit gives you a smart mix of everyday tools and a charger, batteries, and bag to keep it all together.

The value here is not just that you get four tools. It is that the mix makes sense. The included M12 3/8 in. drill/driver handles general drilling and light fastening, the M12 1/4 in. hex impact driver is the faster option for repeated screwdriving and hardware work, the M12 HACKZALL is there for one-handed reciprocating saw tasks, and the M12 rotary tool covers cleanup, detail shaping, cutting, and small accessory-driven work. Instead of buying into a platform one tool at a time, this kit gives you a real starter setup that can earn its keep on day one.

Milwaukee built the M12 line around compact size and portability, and that matters more than people think on the job. Smaller tools are easier to work overhead with, easier to fit between framing members, under sinks, inside cabinets, around ductwork, and in mechanical rooms. If your day involves punch lists, service calls, maintenance work, installations, or repair work more than heavy production drilling all day long, the smaller format often makes you faster because you are fighting the tool less.

This kit uses Milwaukee’s 12V lithium-ion battery system and is powered by REDLITHIUM batteries. Milwaukee calls out more runtime, more power, and more recharges from that battery system, and the practical takeaway is simple: better battery efficiency matters when you are rotating between multiple tools on the same platform. Since this kit includes two batteries and a charger, you can keep one in the tool and one on standby, which is exactly how most users keep compact cordless kits productive through a workday.

The included contractor bag also deserves mention because combo kits live or die on portability. A bag keeps the drill/driver, impact driver, HACKZALL, rotary tool, charger, and batteries together in one place, which makes this kit especially useful as a service setup or secondary jobsite kit. It is the kind of package that works well in a van, on a shelf in the shop, or as a grab-and-go set for small jobs where dragging out larger cases is overkill.

As a platform buy, the Milwaukee 2497-24H M12 4-Tool Combo Kit also gives you access to the broader M12 system, which Milwaukee lists at more than 150 solutions. That matters because once you are already invested in the charger and batteries, adding bare tools later is easier and usually more cost-effective. If you already use M12 batteries, this kit expands your coverage fast. If you are new to M12, it is a clean way to get into the system with tools you will actually use.

Who should buy it? This kit makes the most sense for electricians, HVAC techs, plumbers, maintenance teams, remodelers, installers, property managers, and homeowners who want a capable cordless setup without jumping straight to heavier 18V tools. It is also a solid second kit for pros who already own larger cordless tools but want something lighter for tighter spaces and lighter-duty tasks. If your work is mostly compact fastening, service work, light cutting, and general repairs, this is the kind of kit that sees regular use instead of sitting in the truck.

Use the impact driver for repetitive fastening and save the drill/driver for hole making and controlled screw work. That keeps the chuck tool set up with a bit or drill you need next and cuts down on constant bit swapping during install work.
