Overview

The Veto Pro Pac SB-LD BLACKOUT Hybrid Tool and Meter Bag is a compact service bag built for tradespeople who need fast access to hand tools without tossing sensitive test equipment into the same open compartment. This is a hybrid tool and meter bag designed for carrying hand tools and protecting meters, testers, and probes. Model Number: VPP10914. If you do electrical, HVAC, controls, or general service work, the layout makes a lot of sense right away.

What separates this bag from a standard open-top tool bag is the split storage design. One section stays open for quick access to pliers, drivers, cutters, and other hand tools you reach for all day. The other section is closed-top and built to shield meters and testers from weather, dirt, and contact with loose tools. That matters when your bag rides in a van, sits on concrete, or gets moved room to room on service calls.

The V-SWAP removable tool pocket panel system adds flexibility instead of locking you into one layout. The tester section comes with a V-SWAP Rear Meter Panel, so you can set the bag up for meters, smart probes, or more hand tools depending on the work you do most. For techs whose loadout changes by season or by service category, that is a practical upgrade, not just a spec-sheet feature.

On the build side, Veto gave the SB-LD BLACKOUT the details that usually decide whether a bag holds up long term. The waterproof polypropylene base helps protect the bottom from moisture and abrasion. The tarpaulin-covered rear pocket adds another layer of weather and wear resistance in a spot that often gets dragged, brushed against, or set against rough surfaces. YKK zippers and a detachable over-molded elastomeric grip handle round it out with hardware that is meant for repeated daily use.

Organization is strong for a bag this size. You get 27 total exterior and interior pockets, plus a tape loop, a stainless tape clip, a steel plate for attaching magnet-backed items, and a hang-up hook. In real use, that means you can keep core hand tools visible in the open section while giving dedicated spots to accessories and small items that usually get lost at the bottom of a basic tote.

Size is another part of the appeal. At 12 inches high, 12 inches wide, and 9.5 inches deep, the bag stays compact enough for tight service environments, mechanical rooms, and residential work without feeling stripped down. The 4.2 lb empty weight keeps the bag manageable before you load it, while the 22.5 lb max payload gives you enough headroom for a serious everyday carry setup.

If you are shopping for a tool organizer or tool bag specifically for field service, this one is best for users who carry both hand tools and diagnostic gear. It is especially well suited to electricians, HVAC technicians, low-voltage installers, controls techs, and maintenance pros who want one bag that is fast to work from but still protective where it counts. If you only need an open tote for rough carpentry hand tools, there are simpler options. If you need a compact bag that respects expensive meters and testers, this layout is the better fit.

Separate Your Tools from Your Test Gear

The biggest selling point here is the layout. You are not forced to throw screwdrivers, cutters, probes, and a meter into one open cavity and hope nothing gets beat up.

• Dedicated open-top tool storage section for quick access to hand tools
• Dedicated closed-top meter and tester section to help protect sensitive equipment
• Comes with a V-SWAP Rear Meter Panel for configurable storage

Built to Handle Daily Service Work

This bag is aimed at real field use, not just shelf appeal. The materials and hardware focus on the places tool bags usually fail first: the bottom, the zippers, and the high-contact pockets.

• Waterproof polypropylene plastic base helps with moisture and abrasion protection
• Tarpaulin-covered rear pocket adds weather and wear resistance
• YKK zippers and a detachable over-molded elastomeric grip handle support repeated everyday carry

Pro Tip

Use the open side for the tools you grab every call and keep sharp edges facing down so they do not damage the zipper area. If the closed tester compartment starts getting hard to zip, you are carrying too much in that section and it is time to rearrange the loadout.

• Who it’s for: Electricians, HVAC techs, maintenance crews, and service pros carrying a mix of hand tools, meters, and small diagnostic gear.
• Why it stands out: The hybrid layout, V-SWAP panel system, and rugged waterproof base make it more purpose-built than a basic open tote or generic tool bag.
